Tailings Deposit

With regard to tailings disposal, MSC has implemented a plan for management of the tailings deposit as the basis to regulate dumping volumes and control the supernatant water flows that are pumped back to the plant, thus avoiding the discharge of effluents outside the operations area (closed circuit).

One important advantage, from the technical and environmental point of view, is that the tailings deposit is located within a closed (endorheic) basin, which favors risk prevention and control, both under operating conditions and in case of any contingency due to natural phenomena.
