Health and Safety
As part of its Management Policy, MSC believes in the importance of improving the state of health and the quality of life of the population in its impact area. In this regard, it has a Health System with the following components:
- Strategies for Health Promotion, focusing on continuous improvement of the state of health and wellbeing of the people, and the promotion of healthy lifestyles at work, in the family and in the community.
- Actions for disease prevention, control and surveillance, as well as to control the risk factors in the working and community environments.
- Timely, comprehensive and quality care concerning prevailing and emerging diseases, aimed at ensuring a proper recovery and rehabilitation of the workers, their families and the community.
- Incorporation of a health services network with an excellent problem-solving capacity and a focus on quality and continuous improvement, based on compliance with the legal and regulatory framework in effect in the country and the commitments taken on by MSC.
Safety in the company is also part of its general policies. The mission regarding safety in MSC consists of providing technical and operational support to all areas in terms of safety, security, hygiene, hazardous substances and general health.
The implementation of a preventive and proactive safety culture that supports consistent behaviors and safe processes within the framework of company policies and standards is one of the primary objectives in health and safety.
MSC has been awarded the OHSAS 18001: 2007 certification which is still in effect to date, thanks to its best practices in health and occupational safety.
