Minera San Crist\u00f3bal S.A. (MSC) reaffirms its commitment to responsible, world-class mining, built on mutual respect, sustainable management, and the creation of opportunities for Bolivia.<\/em><\/em><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Today, Corporate Social Responsibility can no longer be understood as an isolated or philanthropic initiative. In strategic sectors such as mining, it represents a comprehensive management approach in which productive activities coexist with local communities, the surrounding territory, environmental stewardship, and economic development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Within this framework, Minera San Crist\u00f3bal integrates its social, environmental, and economic commitments into institutional policies, management systems, performance indicators, and continuous improvement processes aligned with the principles of the International Council on Mining and Metals (ICMM).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One of the cornerstones of MSC’s corporate management is mutual respect. For the company, fostering a responsible culture means recognizing others as equals, listening, engaging in dialogue, and building shared solutions. Experience has shown that success is not achieved by simply operating within a territory, but by working collaboratively with the people who call that territory home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This approach is reflected in the company’s economic and social contribution. In 2025, MSC contributed US$314.9 million in taxes, royalties, and mining fees to the national and regional economy. In addition, the company purchased US$469 million in goods and services, benefiting 1,248 suppliers. Within the services category, 82% of procurement was awarded to Bolivian suppliers\u2014including local communities\u2014for a total value of US$237 million.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the community level, the company invested more than US$918,000 in productive development, education, healthcare, infrastructure, basic services, impact mitigation, and community engagement initiatives. Notable projects included programs focused on camelids, quinoa production, and tourism, as well as pilot greenhouses and fertigation systems.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company’s achievements in education and social development have also been significant. In 2025, 118 mid-level technical professionals from local communities graduated in five specializations through the San Crist\u00f3bal Alternative Education Center (CEA). In partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), MSC also strengthened the “Health, Rights, and Empowerment of Adolescents and Women in the Municipality of Colcha K” project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In environmental management, the company focuses on the responsible, efficient, and sustainable use of natural resources through sound prevention and control practices. Its initiatives include identifying and assessing environmental risks, implementing effective measures to prevent and mitigate potential impacts, and rehabilitating disturbed areas in accordance with internationally recognized environmental monitoring and management standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Minera San Crist\u00f3bal’s sustainability policy has been recognized by public institutions and specialized national and international organizations, which have highlighted the company’s performance, operational efficiency, and commitment to responsible, ethical, and sustainable mining that creates value for Bolivia and its people.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For Minera San Crist\u00f3bal, investing in sustainable policies means investing in the future. A company that fails to manage its impacts may continue operating for a period of time, but it is unlikely to build and maintain long-term relationships of trust.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sustainable policies help reduce risks, improve efficiency, strengthen relationships with stakeholders, and generate shared value. In mining, this is essential because the industry must coexist with local communities, protect the environment, and meet increasingly demanding standards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
