Health and Safety
MSC considers improving the health and quality of life of the population under its coverage to be an integral part of its Management Policy. To this end, it has a Health System that includes:
- Health promotion strategies aimed at the continuous improvement of people’s health and well-being, helping to establish healthy lifestyles at work, within families, and in the community.
- Measures for the prevention, control, and surveillance of diseases, as well as existing risk factors in the workplace and community.
- Timely, comprehensive, and high-quality care for prevalent and emerging diseases, to ensure the proper recovery and rehabilitation of workers, their families, and the community.
- The establishment of a health services network with high capacity for resolution, organized around a focus on quality and continuous improvement, based on compliance with the country’s current regulatory framework and the commitments undertaken by MSC.
Workplace safety is also integrated into general policies. MSC’s safety mission is to provide technical and operational support to all areas related to safety, security, hygiene, hazardous substances, and general health.
Establishing a preventive and proactive safety culture that supports consistent behaviors and safe processes in accordance with established policies and standards is one of the main objectives of health and safety.
MSC received the ISO 45001 certification for its occupational health and safety management system. Additionally, it is the only mining company in Bolivia with the Healthy Company certification, ratified in 2025.
