On Thursday, Senarecom has carried out an onsite inspection of Minera San Cristóbal SA to supervise its activities related to the production and processing of mineral concentrates for exports. The private mining company is located in the province of Nor Lípez in the Department of Potosí. The company produces and processes lead-silver and zinc-silver concentrates for exports to countries such as Canada, Australia, Japan and the United States.
The executive director of the National Service for the Registry and Control of Mineral and Metal Commercialization (Senarecom, in Spanish), Lourdes Abastoflor, explained that the purpose of the inspection was to provide feedback on the procedures used by this institution. “This activity was aimed at strengthening the registry and control of the commercialization of minerals and metals in the country”.
Senarecom’s official data show that in 2015 San Cristóbal contributed BOB 256.51 million in royalties. Abastoflor confirmed that they plan to carry out other inspections in different mining companies.
